THE UN'S 17 SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
In 2015, the United Nations adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which constitute a common global agenda to create a better and more sustainable future for all. At Lyngsoe Rainwear, we are deeply committed to contributing to this vision by actively working on selected goals that are particularly relevant to our core areas.
We have decided to focus on three specific goals, as we believe that a targeted and thorough approach yields the best results.
Our current focus areas are:
Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
We are working to promote decent working conditions and economic growth by helping our suppliers assess and improve their environmental impact. We have initiated efforts to ensure that our suppliers adhere to ethical standards and work under responsible conditions. Additionally, we focus on supporting our employees through ongoing training and development that enhances their skills and advances their career growth.
Our goal is to create a workplace where all employees can thrive and grow.
Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
We are actively working to optimize our resource use and reduce waste. A significant part of our efforts includes collaborating with manufacturers to analyze their environmental impact, specifically their CO2 emission scopes. We are also in the process of sourcing more environmentally friendly fabrics for our products, which helps to minimize our overall environmental footprint.
Goal 13: Climate Action
We are dedicated to taking concrete steps to reduce our climate impact. This includes implementing energy-efficient solutions in our operations, optimizing our logistics to reduce CO2 emissions, and promoting sustainable practices in all aspects of our business. We are also exploring opportunities to support and engage in climate-related initiatives that contribute to a greener future.
Our Future Commitments
Although we have chosen to dive deeply into these three goals, our ambitions do not stop here. Our long-term goal is to work on all 17 SDGs in a meaningful and strategic way by 2030. For each goal, we will define concrete actions and develop solutions that create measurable and lasting results.
